Welcome to my GUITAR BLOG!!! Besides singing, I am not the most musically inclined person. HOWEVER: This is about to change! This blog documents and will continue to document my progress in learning how to play the guitar. I'm learning from my dad as well as justinguitar.com!
On the right is a picture not of my actual guitar but of one that's pretty much the same. It's a Yamaha TransAcoustic guitar! The one I play is my dad's, but it's not very wide— a good size for me (tiny).
I hope you enjoy reading about my journey and check up on this page every once in a while to see how I'm doing! Maybe one day you'll hear me play. :)
And YES, this is going to become my personality for the next year or so. Do I care? Hell no! I'm having fun and I feel cool.
My fingertips hurt. I didn't expect it to be so difficult to hold the strings down; there are little red imprints on them now! I spent about an hour learning the very very basics with my dad, and he taught me the C and G chords. My first song is probably going to be Galileo by Indigo Girls, and it starts with C and G! How convienent!
The only strap we could find was one for the mandolin (which my dad plays) so we'll get a nice one for me to start off with. Mandolin straps are skinny because it's a small instrument, which in turn means they dig into my shoulder. But soon enough, I'll have a proper pink one! Of course that's what I get the most excited about...But in all seriousness, I'm genuinely so happy and enthusiastic to finally learn to play. I've wanted to start for so long now, so finally getting to it is super exciting. I want to practice every day (or almost every day)!!!
